Let's Explore Different Materials

Our expertise lies in Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), a cutting-edge additive manufacturing technology renowned for its rapid production, precision, and cost-effectiveness. While there's no one-size-fits-all material, we specialize in guiding you toward the most appropriate choice. Our printing capabilities encompass a diverse range, including PLA and its variations, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, and select exotic filaments.

(Note: the majority of consumer products are printed in PLA with many color options)

Common Uses of Materials

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene):

  • Mechanical Parts: ABS is known for its strength and toughness, making it suitable for parts subjected to mechanical stress.
  • Enclosures and Housings: It's commonly used for enclosures and housings due to its ability to withstand higher temperatures and its durability.
  • Post-Processing: ABS can be easily post-processed using acetone vapor smoothing, which gives models a smooth surface finish.

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate):

  • Outdoor Applications: ASA is UV resistant and weatherproof, making it ideal for outdoor applications where prolonged exposure to sunlight and weather is expected.
  • Automotive Parts: It's commonly used for automotive parts such as exterior trim, grilles, and housings due to its excellent weatherability and heat resistance.
  • Architectural Models: ASA's ability to withstand outdoor conditions makes it suitable for creating architectural models for outdoor display.

PETG (Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol):

  • Functional Parts: PETG is stronger and more durable than PLA, making it suitable for functional parts that require impact resistance.
  • Mechanical Components: It's commonly used for gears, mounts, and other mechanical components due to its toughness and resistance to chemicals.
  • Transparent Models: PETG has excellent transparency and can be used for creating transparent or translucent models.

PC (Polycarbonate):

  • High-Temperature Applications: PC has a high glass transition temperature, making it suitable for applications that require resistance to high temperatures.
  • Engineering Components: It's commonly used for engineering components such as gears, bearings, and structural parts due to its strength and toughness.
  • Transparent Parts: PC has excellent optical properties and can be used for creating transparent parts such as lenses, light covers, and visors.

PLA (Polylactic Acid):

  • General Prototyping: PLA is commonly used for general prototyping due to its ease of use and wide availability.
  • Educational Projects: It's often used in educational settings due to its low odor and non-toxic nature.
  • Cosplay Props and Costumes: PLA's rigid and brittle nature makes it suitable for creating lightweight props and costumes.
